Trans Europa Day 59 – Le Barcares to Colera – 75km

The nights are getting longer and, unfortunately, my thermarest air mattress has developed a slow leak thus explaining why I awoke during the night feeling that I was sleeping on rocks!

Nevertheless, up at 6.20am to start the process of decamping ahead of the rider's meeting at 6.55am to get today's route notes and breakfast at 7am.

I set off with Dan as the sun rose and we hugged the last of the French coastline as the Pyrenees met the ocean.

The wind was "bearable" today although there were times when the cross-wind attempted to blow me off the road, especially at the France-Spain border reached after a strenuous climb after lunch which today offered avocado and fresh baguettes followed by waterrmelon!

More climbing after the border and then a nice downhill to Camping Sant Miquel in Colera Spain where the street art is impressive and dinner of paella was delicious!
