Trans Oceania 2014 - Port Fairy Rest Day | Sunday, November 30 - 0km

After a great night's sleep, John and I walked into town for a leisurely breakfast. At around 11am, I set off by bicycle to tour the town and its attractions and we finished off the rest day with a nice Thai dinner. Enjoy the photos!

Cemeteries are always interesting...

As are church fetes..

There is a poignant reminder of the treatment of Aborigines in the area.
 And some fun stickers...

And a good Thai restaurant...

Trans Oceania 2014 - Nelson to Port Fairy | Saturday, November 29 - 133km

I took the van to the lunch spot around 80km out leaving a 53km ride into Port Fairy. As it is election day in Victoria, I stopped at the first polling booth I saw and filled out the absentee paperwork for my electorate. Where I voted happens to be in Denis Napthine's electorate..

There was the usual headwind and morning chill but, once the sun broke through, the cycling conditions were quite pleasant. I stopped to check out the wind farm as seemed befitting..

The bulls watched me pass by and it was time for coffee and cake at the first opportunity!

I eventually made it to Port Fairy and, after a short 2km ride around town, I headed to my cabin with 55km on the clock and feeling quite good about today's ride.

After showering, I walked with John into town for supplies and we reserved a table at Ramellas for an early dinner.

Rest day tomorrow so plan to explore Port Fairy!
