All roads do lead to Rome! Cycle Southern Italy, Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily 14 September 2019 - 22 October 2019 |
Monday 7 October 2019
As today's ride is allegedly the toughest day - with 2.5km of climbing and rain forecast, it was a Rest Day for Edna and me!
True to forecast, the route was gruelling - even from the van - and rain poured down at varied strengths and times throughout the day.
Mt Etna, like Fuji, is mysterious and somewhere behind the clouds but we may get a better look tomorrow.
Our friend Eli set off from the lunch spot at around 70km and we picked him up in the van 3 km later and rode in to the very comfortable Hotel Riviera where we lunched at the hotel restaurant.

As a reward for all the group who actually cycled today, TDA put on a spectacular dinner, complete with wines, at Ristorante Garden
