All roads do lead to Rome! Cycle Southern Italy, Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily 14 September 2019 - 22 October 2019 |

After all the rain yesterday, we decided to skip the puddles out of the hotel and took a jump to the 19km mark. The riding was mostly pleasant until we turned towards Catania at 53km mark into a headwind that was incessant to the lunch spot at 75km where we decided to call it a day and enjoy the view of Etna before the clouds set in again.
We also avoided the headwind and horrific traffic in Catania for the remaining 35km.
We have a rest day at the Grand Hotel Baia Verde which is a four star resort hotel on the beach way out of Catania but fortunately close to the little village of Aci Castello where I headed for snacks and an early dinner.... and a little church music to celebrate the eve of Yom Kippur!
