All roads do lead to Rome! Cycle Southern Italy, Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily 14 September 2019 - 22 October 2019 |

It was to be a long day's ride but Edna and I avoided the big climb at the start and got dropped at around the 30km mark with the intention of riding the remaining 87km into Livorno which we did! That's my longest ride for a few years with, mercifully, rolling hills rather than steep climbs and abundance of which lie ahead in the days to come...
It was pleasant cycling with stops for refreshments along the way. We were, of course, passed by all the other riders but we ride at our own leisurely pace.
Livorno is an old port town and we had our group dinner in a restaurant about a 1km walk from the hotel.
All in all, a good day!
117.1km +887m/ -912m Nice flat riding from our start! |
For the vegetarians - minestrone |
