With only 67km to go to Bonifacio, we enjoyed a sleep in with late breakfast. The route looked manageable so Edna and I decided we would cycle the whole day - a first for me on this tour!
The first 15km out of Zonza was through a pine forest and the air was clean and crisp. The day got somewhat harder from the 38km mark to lunch at 61km with a strong headwind and heavy traffic. Nevertheless, we made it safely in to lunch with only 6km to get in to Bonifacio.. with some steep climbs at the end.
Our hotel is at the top of a hill so to venture down to the old town and further down to the port requires some effort on the return journey!
My roommate Roger and I enjoyed a dinner of mussels down at the port while Edna found a place for a salad in the company of Eli. Rest day coming up tomorrow!
