All roads do lead to Rome! Cycle Southern Italy, Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily 14 September 2019 - 22 October 2019 |
Sunday 22 September 2019
The rain was bucketing down this morning and, with a huge hill and descent from the hotel, Edna and I took the safe option of a van ride through the downpour to the 40km mark at which point the rain had stopped and we had a good 50km ride ahead of us with nice views of the mountains and the sea.
Notwithstanding our huge lead, we were still passe a few km short of lunch at 59km by Russ who was riding extremely strongly today!
Although there were a few hills after lunch, we managed to get up (and down) them and had a pleasant ride in to Calvi which is our rest stop for tomorrow.
All in all, a good day!
