Orient Express Day 2 Chenoise to Troyes - 90km

It is not "fun" packing up a wet tent in a camp ground... Let's call yesterday a "practice run" for the next 25 camping days..

All packed and out we rode in cool overcast conditions to Provins, about 11km away, for a loop around the 12th century guard tower which subsequently became a prison and is now unoccupied.

Nothing much going on in Provins at 8am but we found a place for coffee and pain au chocolat across the road from a little old lady who came to her window to check out the strangers in Lycra.

Onwards for another 45km to lunch next to fields of pink poppies. Delicious fresh bread with goats cheese and assorted ecoli-free vegetables.

It rained and rained for the last 25km into Troyes where we are staying at the very nice Mercure hotel. Washed and rinsed all the ride gear, dried out the tent, had a light snacky dinner and off to sleep in a very comfy bed with doona ahead of a "rest" day checking out the Gothic town of Troyes.
