Orient Express Day 17 Regensburg to Straubing - 58km

We departed Regensburg for a quite short cycling day so we decided to stretch the day out somewhat. First stop was for photos on the old bridge leaving town.

Then on to the Walhalla Temple, a faux Greek temple built by German aristocrat Crown Prince Ludwig in the early 1800's to impress his friends. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walhalla_temple

We made a detour off the route to Wiesent for coffee and cake and then cycled through to Straubing for more coffee and cake and Edna' obligatory schnecker which she opted to devour while walked through the nearby Aldi store where the drinking riders picked up bottles of wine for less than 2 euros!!

Short riding day - short blog. Posted from rain soaked Linz
