Trans Oceania 2014 - Meningie to Kingston | Wednesday, November 26 - 148km

I woke up a few times during the night but thankfully without any nausea! I decided that it was time to change tactics and try to cycle to lunch which would be around 80km! So, after packing up the tent and eating a slice of bread with jam and peanut butter, I set off in coolish overcast conditions and managed to tack on to the end of a group of seven other riders who pulled me along for about 30km.

We followed the sea water plains for some time and the odour of rotting cockles was quite unpleasant!!
Everyone stopped for coffee, and some for a hot breakfast, at the coffee shop/restaurant just outside Salt Creek, about 20km short of lunch.

I managed the 80km to lunch and called it a day from there.
Some took the opportunity for a nap :)

On the way to the caravan park, we passed the BIG LOBSTER "Larry" who even has his own postage stamp!

I rented a budget cabin (without en suite) for me and John and then headed into downtown Kingston to check it out - that took about 5 minutes!

Lobster for sale at $98 per kilo!!!

Back to the cabin, nice hot shower in the amenities block and a dinner of bbq chicken with sweet chili sauce and pumpkin mash.

All in all, a good day on the road!
